Robotics Fitness Challenge 2023, a milestone in the acceleration of I&M robotics

With the Robotics Fitness Challenge a success and on its’ second year, the two-day event held at Brazosport College in Lake Jackson, Texas last May 31 and June 1, 2023, allowed I&M robotics solutions providers from around the world to showcase their technologies’ capabilities to an audience of asset owners and industry shareholders.

To take part in one of SPRINT Robotics’ most demanding events, participants must operate their robotics solutions in numerous use cases and tasks that are outlined by the Robotics Fitness Challenge Steering Committee, which is comprised of representatives from the four SPRINT Robotics Action Groups. Aside from that, a jury made up of asset owners will rate the solutions based on their actual operational performance.

A good mix of I&M robotics providers participated in the two days, with representatives from the following companies: ANYbotics, Boston Dynamics, Drone Deploy, Flyability, Hydromea, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Square Robot, Luftronix, Waygate Technologies, MFE Inspection Solutions, ScanTech Instruments Inc. and AUT Solutions.

Aside from thanking all the participants and partners who supported the event last week, Dr. Tjibbe Bouma, Chairman of the SPRINT Robotics Collaborative, stated that “This year’s Robotics Fitness Challenge is yet another milestone on the journey to full acceptance and large-scale deployment of robotics for Inspection & Maintenance.”
