Remote Tooling and Maintenance – Robotics for more than just Inspection

Robotic systems should be seen not only as inspection tools, but as platforms to mount tooling and maintenance equipment for areas we are not able to access with human entry, or areas we do not want humans to enter.

SPRINT announced that human entry to confined space assets is responsible for 80% of asset downtime due to preparation requirements.  This is also considered hazardous activity – safety consideration.

Robots are already used for inspection of these environments, let’s put them to work!
